Voice, narration and call settings

Listening to narration and starting a call are different actions. Check the controls available for the selected character and the charge shown before starting.

Updated

Choose the supported audio action

Open the character conversation and inspect its voice options. Narration reads a response, while an available call uses a live audio interaction. Text access does not establish that every character, voice or audio action has identical availability.

Review the selected voice, time allowance or coin cost before confirming. Audio spending is separate from ordinary text; see Dream Coin examples.

If you cannot hear the response

  1. Check your device volume and the browser tab's mute state.
  2. Check which speaker, headphones or Bluetooth device is selected.
  3. Try another available audio item to narrow down the issue.
  4. Reload once after confirming that the connection is stable.

A voice performance is part of a fictional character, not a real person talking through the profile. Use headphones when you do not want nearby people to hear the audio.

If a call cannot use the microphone

Allow microphone access when you choose a feature that needs it. Check both the browser's site permission and the operating system's microphone permission. A headset with an input switch can be muted even when browser access is allowed.

Do not provide another person's recording to impersonate them. For a persistent technical problem, include the device, browser, selected character and error message in a support request.

Questions and answers

Does OurDream support voice calls?

Use the voice and call controls offered for the selected character. Check the available access and displayed charge; a text conversation does not automatically include every audio option.

Why is there no sound?

Check volume, tab mute, the selected output device and another available audio item. If the problem concerns your own input, inspect browser and device microphone permissions.

Is a character's voice a real person responding?

No. It is part of the AI character experience, not evidence that a person is personally answering the conversation.
